RAC consults and assists an employer in the development of a disability strategy. RAC will analyse the existing strategy and identify whether there are elements that need to be included in the strategy and then recommends what should be in place. Where there is no existing strategy, RAC will assist with the development of a strategy, breaking down the suggested activities into a recommended time frame.
RAC reviews an employer’s Employment Equity Plan in relation to compliance with the Employment Equity Act. This includes an analysis of the employer’s HR polices in relation to their inclusive disability strategy. RAC identifies gaps in the policy and suggested timelines and costing. When recruitment services are required, we will help by recommending potential suppliers and monitor their outputs against identified recruitment objectives.
Disability Skills Development
RAC will look at the employers Annual Training Plan and Work Skills Plan to ensure that disability is prevalent. To achieve Disability Employment Equity, RAC recommends learnerships as a tool. There are benefits to an employer using learnerships as a tool for Employment Equity. The employer will receive SARS incentives, tax allowances and SETA funding. RAC will assist the employer with submitting applications for learnership projects and the management of disability learnerships.
RAC analyses the employer’s BBBEE scorecard, identifying how disability can impact the company’s points. RAC will recommend a strategy for the company to score the full complement of disability-specific points on offer in the BBBEE scorecard. Where there are disability points that can be earned by looking at the designated group categories across the BBBEE scorecard elements, RAC will recommend projects that will increase and enhance the company’s BBBEE scorecard points.
